More Podcasts & Getting After It

I posted a list of podcasts at the end of January, but then, what a surprise, I discovered some new ones!  At the end of this post, I’ll put a list of the new ones I’ve added to my podcast list.  I’ll also go back and add them to the other list as well.  I’ll italicize them in the other list, so you can tell which ones were newly added.

As I mentioned in the other post, I’m a voracious listener of late.  Some of the podcasts I’ve listened to have deeply resonated with me.  It sounds like dramatic hyperbole to say doing this has changed my life, but it has.  I’ll share more about the ways in which I’ve been impacted soon, but for now, I want to share something about my goals for the year, because it’s tied into this.

Normally, around my birthday, I put a plan together for the following year.  I didn’t do that in 2016 for various reasons.  What I *did* do is decide what I want to be true by the end of 2017, and it’s these two items: 1) I want to be published.  2) I want to have a podcast.

To move the publishing goal forward, I’ve hired an author’s assistant named Janica Smith.  I’ve known her for many years, and I admire her immensely.  She’s been instrumental in helping many people get their work published.  I strongly believe working with her is going to be a huge win in moving me forward on this goal.

Then today, I had a monumental lunch with a friend of mine named Lisa Cummings.  Lisa has a company called Lead Through Strengths.  She helps people in organizations discover their strengths, and use them to be even stronger.  And…as luck would have it, Lisa has a podcast!  So towards the end of our conversation, I asked her some questions about it.

I’ve already got a draft idea for the type of podcast I’m interested in doing.  Now I’m looking forward to checking out some of the resources she generously shared with me.

One of the things I value the most about my life is that it’s never boring, and today was certainly notable for many reasons, including that amazing lunch with Lisa, and those two steps forward towards meeting my end of year goals.

Here’s the promised list of new podcasts I’ve added to my list from the end of January.
